A AutoCAD SHX file is a compiled shapefile. Dungeon crawl stone soup trunk club. Is indicated you might find it difficult to natively read.

Quote: An SHX file is the compiled machine code version of an SHP ASCII-based shape entities file, which means that programs can process SHX files much more quickly. All of the vector based fonts in AutoCAD, for example, are SHX files. So, SHX files can be fonts or shape files. There are libraries out there that can work with shape files like the library or ArcView.

Interestingly, for ArcView, if you look it states: Shapefiles spatially describe geometries: points, polylines, and polygons. These, for example, could represent water wells, rivers, and lakes, respectively.

Each item may also have attributes, that describe the items, such as the name or temperature. I am sure there are other libraries (like ) that you might possibly use. Hope this helps.

Freddiemac: There's nothing wrong with the font that a little code rewriiting won't cure. Architxt and Archquik are both excellent hand letter-like fontsand are different enough from other fonts like archstyl to hold their own. Your suggestion about choosing another font and renaming it indicates that you seem to lack a fundamental understanding of computer protocol. I'm still sorting through fonts from websites that are renamed versions of other fonts uploaded by people with philisophies similar to yours.

Thanks for your support. Discover card login online account. Freddiemac: Unless you're using the default Autocad font, the same thing could happen to you. Well then, considering the thousands of supposedly resuable drawings in my (and I guess your) library, can you make a suggestion as to how to automatically fix all the text in drawings I want to reuse after switching fonts, especially regarding: -- Different letter spacing & right pointing leaders at the end of notes -- Different text line spacing inevitable when switching fonts If you don't have answers to these questions, you first suggestion doesn't help. Teiarch, I can't find your email in the zip file, so I have to reply here, sorry! A funny thing happened today. I read your latest message, I reopen the drawing I created yesterday to investigate your text file & notice that all my problems are solved.

I originally mentioned that I'd only noticed this problem since switching to Autocad 2007 (within the past few days). Today I installed service pack 1. I've also rebooted since yesterday. Maybe either of these has something to do with my original architxt.shx working again, I don't know, but once again an Autocad problem has seemed to disappear, as it appeared, without explanation. If the problem reappears, I'll continue this thread.
