I know, I know, there are about half a million of them on the internet, well about 10,000 last time I took a look, but they're not the sounds I'd like to put in some emulation software. I had the actual DX7 (who didn't who was a pro at the time, I suppose, I wasn't), with the debated keyboard, and I loved it because it was sensitive and playable for most types of sound, a sentiment often not shared by others. As to make a little clear what I like ROM-wise compared with not-so-great software: Anyhow, I had these additional sounds from a club at the time, I made some sounds, and got nice sounds, and I had a number of commercially bought sounds, which I could pick individually from a cassette tape with exemplified use of the patches, and they were good. A little reverb or effects, and the instrument simulations and sound effects would work quite well in actual music (I monitored with a good quality HiFi amp and medium sized Jamo speakers, which played CDs fine). The sounds on the internet don't contain these types sounds unless I'm really mistaking. Of course I didn't at the moment research this in depth, but maybe someone from the top of their head knows if the good sounds are somehow available, or maybe are still restrained by commercial rules?

I got to my seat and saw that there was a wet patch. It was about the size of two decks of cards laid side by side,” Wilkinson told the paper. At first I thought it was water but the smell was so distinct it could only have been urine.”When he brought the issue to the attention of a stewardess, he said, he.

Of course I think it is a serious question, but it wouldn't be surprising if there are people finding this boring, then ignore it. The best 3rd party sounds I got for my DX7 came bundled with the E! Upgrade from Grey Matter. I think there were 512 of them and they were all great (for a DX7 anyway). I'd look for them if they're still available. I did a fair amount of my own programming on the thing too. A young mind has the ability to bury itself into the most tedious of tasks I wouldn't have the patience for it today.

The best thing I ever did for my DX7 was hook it up to an A/DA chorus/flanger. That's how I ran it 100% of the time during gigs - and I was gigging full time back then. I'd set the unit where I could adjust the controls with my left hand. That was simply a great analog effects unit. It had the ability to make even the driest and thinnest of patches (which were rampant on a DX7) come alive with movement and animation.

Those great sounds are on the board itself, not only in terms of programmability/functionality, but also in terms of the brilliant synth action, that's velocity-sensitivity, aftertouch a pitch wheel, and a mod wheel. I own the DX7 and bought it used from its original owner at an excellent price; it came with a cartridge and the music stand, for what it's worth.
