Hi, I have read most of the threads on this site and have found it informative, but can't find anything specific to a change I'd like to make to my sysem. I have iGO8 v8.3 (R1 I think) running on my Zenec naviceiver (NE-524). I have speedcams but with an unusable audiblke warning that is repeats constantly. How do I change it to a single warning? My sys file simply states: [device] type='zenec_na2000n' [gps] baud=38400 so I can't change anything there. I'd actually like to try a new skin but they don't seem compatible with the file layout I have and I don't have the option to change skins on my menu. Can anyone help?

Vista auxiliar secundaria dibujo tecnico arquitectura barroca @ fivemurrays What is the full version number of your iGO8? You can read that from 'Menu' >> 'Settings' then, if you are in 'Advanced mode' scroll to 'About' and read it there or if you are in 'Simple mode' click on 'About' and there it is.

Also, is your iGO installed on a SD card or on an internal Flash ROM, in the device? As for the lines in the 'sys.txt' file there are hundreds of different options, that you can make the system use. For speedcam warnings, you can insert the following in your 'sys.txt' file: [warning] speedcam_warning=1 speedcam_soundtype=1 Where, for 'speedcam_warning', 0 means disabled and 1 means enabled, and for 'speedcam_soundtype' the number, I would think, means different types of sound. You could try, say 1, 2, 3 or 4, etc, and see if that is so.

For skins, if you want to use them, they usually come in the form of a '*.zip' file and you put them into a folder named 'skin' under the 'content' folder. If that folder does not exist, you just create one. And they have to be left in zip format, iGO will do the rest. Once you have a skin file or files in that folder, (you can place any number of them in the same folder), you can then select them from 'Menu' >> 'Settings' >> scroll to 'Menu' and click on 'Skin'. But you have to be in 'Advanced mode' to do that. Hi, Thanks for your reply. 8.3.2.114854 using an embedded Firefly application engine.

It is on an SD card but there are embedded elements on the machine. I don't have an advanced option - so no skins option. I tried to install another skin yesterday - I created the 'skin' folder etc but the system just ignored it when I switch the machine on with the new files on the SD card. The file structure on the SD card is shown in the attached image.

In time it would be great to upgrade to Primo when I work out how the work with the system I have. The resolution is 480-234. Thanks for any help you can provide. @ fivemurrays I find it difficult to believe that your build of iGO8 does not have an 'Advanced Mode', (called 'Expert MOde' in some builds). But then again, it may have been specially modified for your device.

Just to check, when you start from 'Map' screen and click on 'Menu', do you get a display like this: Or is it Like this? If it is this, click on the 'Settings' and you should the get this: Click on the 'Expert mode' or 'Advanced Mode', and get this' Click on 'Yes' and you then see the 'Navigation Menu' with the 'Settings' button. Comix 999 hd software v5000. Click on it and you will now be in the 'Advanced Settings' menu.

Click on the 'Arrow' at bottom right, go to the second 'Settings' screen, and click on 'Menu'. You will see a slot labeled 'Skin'.

If it is 'greyed out' it means there are no skins installed. If there are skins, it will be lit up, and when you click on it you will see all the installed skins. The 'Default' skin is the one existing in iGO8.

Hi, It's like the first screen you showed but at the bottom there is only the option to select maps - not even an exit option as it operates all the time on the Zenec 2-DIN system. There's no expert or advanced selection, nor a skin option greyed out or not. I guess it's a stripped down version. So I guess that's why I can't get a new skin working when I made the skin folder in content. The maps are apparently R3 but don't allow 7 digit postcodes searchs - which is a severe limit on the system.

I've included 3 pics - my start screen, plus the two screens available when you select settings. Again - thanks for your help on this. @ I wouldn't bother about iGO8, I'd go for Primo. We need to know what your screen resolution is.

But if you want to have a go, You are not allowed to view links. It is a 'bare bones' system, but fully bootable as out of the box, if your screen resolution is 480x272. You need to add maps etc. But it would be sufficeint to see if it works on your device, before you do all that. But I would recommend that you get another SD card to try it out, or alternatively make a full back-up copy on your PC of your old system.
